Joanne Forkin

My husband, Mark, and a I have always liked to explore different career opportunities and places to live. In our early married life, we moved from Boston to Washington DC, both great cities, and later created a bed and breakfast on a large country estate in Charlottesville, VA. Our travel adventures took us throughout Europe, the Caribbean and even a move to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While all of these places are totally different, the thread that ties them all together is the real estate: the love of old houses.

Throughout my professional career in the telecommunications industry, the bulk of my free time has been spent working on a renovation project at home. Since I always purchase fixer uppers, I see a house as constantly transforming as it takes on the changes and improvements of its owners. What seems old becomes new again.

When I searched for a place to permanently settle down in, I looked no further than Savannah. Savannah is a city that people fall in love with and move to. That is exactly what happened to me. With its astonishingly beautiful blend of architecture and landscaping, Savannah is a manageable perfect walking city that makes you feel connected to it and the people you meet each day. As Savannah continues to grow, as more people discover her charms and relocate here, the story just gets better.

After moving to Savannah, I made a great career move as well to become a real state consultant. What better way for me to combine my business sales skills and love of historic homes than to help other people find their perfect place. With an eye for location and renovation potential and a desire to help people, real estate consulting is the perfect job for me. I help people find their dream homes everyday- how great is that?

Joanne is also a member of The Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA), the Savannah Historic Foundation as well as the Telfair Museum of Arts.

I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and moved to Savannah in late 2008, and have since been proud to call it home.

I have worked in the real estate industry for over ten years now. I started out at a small boutique real estate company in Toronto and worked there throughout high school and university, then when I graduated Wilfred Laurier I moved on to work as the executive assistant to the broker at Re/Max Realtron .

So when I moved to Savannah, it seemed only natural to continue in real estate along side Joanne at Keller Williams Savannah Downtown Realty.

When I am not working, I enjoy exploring the culturally rich and picturesque city of Savannah, reading, watching old movies, and just being home with my family.
